Curriculum:

​

  • Ballet/Pointe*:  Ages 7 & up/Ages 10 & up:  The mother of all dance forms; its formal structure stresses strength, balance and control; REQUIRED FOR ALL COMPETITION STUDENTS

 

  • Jazz:  Ages 7 & up:  A vigorous free style form of dance stressing rhythm, flexibility and style

 

  • Tap:  Ages 3 & up:  A percussive and audible form of dance in which rhythms are created by striking the feet against the floor; it develops a strong sense of rhythm, coordination and dexterity​

 

  • Lyrical*:  Ages 10 & up (must have at least 1 year of Ballet):  A form of dance combing ballet, modern and jazz stressing balance, strength and interpretation of music

 

  • Hip-Hop:  Ages 7 & up:  A form of street jazz in which isolations are used in combination to create the movement basis, but remains distinct from jazz by not using the more ballet based elements of the dance;  develops a high level of motor skill coordination

 

  • Stretch & Strength:  Ages 7 & up:  This non-performance class is designed to extend the body and limbs to their fullest extent and range of motion; develops good body structure, alignment and greater technique; RECOMMENDED FOR ALL COMPETITION STUDENTS

  • Zumba:  is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO." The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

  • Zumba® Kids:  classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure. Helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part ofchildren's lives by making fitness fun.
